Adam Thorpe

Founder, Beyond Arc

16 years of NHS programme and transformation work, most of it inside one of the most complex NHS Foundation Trusts in the North of England, including time in the Trust internal consultancy function. The disciplines: process, change, demand and capacity, service redesign. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

The work ran across complex stakeholder environments spanning NHS bodies, local authorities and third-sector partners, and alongside major national consultancies. Local and national delivery, with systems that had to work first time because people depended on them.

The track record is real, and you can check it. Reducing waiting list times. Improving capacity and demand. Delivering large, multi-million-pound tenders and the service mobilisations behind them. Redesigning how people access services using technology and new ways of working. The numbers and the named programmes sit on my LinkedIn.

Left in 2025 to build Beyond Arc. Same discipline, new domain. The skills that make NHS transformation land, systems thinking, stakeholder management, making complex change work in the real world, are what AI deployment needs and most AI projects lack.

Process, change, demand and capacity, service redesign: those are the same disciplines that decide where AI earns its keep in a business, and where it just adds cost. Mapping the work, scoping the first move, then configuring client-owned workflows around the tools you already use. That is what Beyond Arc sells.

Beyond Arc is a solo operation, AI-multiplied. Adam builds the strategy, the systems, and the client relationships. Archie, an agent Adam built and runs on a multi-provider stack, supports Beyond Arc's own day-to-day operations: inbox, scheduling, research, and content drafting.

Based in Chorley, Lancashire. Works remotely with clients in the UK and internationally, including delivery outside the UK.

Design the system first. Then operate it.

Most AI projects fail because someone bought a tool and hoped for the best. The technology is rarely the problem. The system around it is.

Beyond Arc builds AI deployments the way you'd build any serious operational system. Scope the problem, design the architecture, build it, test it, then run it. No hype, no demos that fall apart in production. Working systems that survive contact with reality.

Practitioner, not commentator. Beyond Arc tests the pattern internally before recommending it to a client.

The consultancy is the work. The Arc is the weekly newsletter. A proprietary algorithmic trading operation runs in the background, built in public.
